The new album from Panic! at the Disco is less than a month away, and they’ve just shared the first new sampling of Pray for the Wicked since announcing the project back in March.
“High Hopes” has been set free into the streamosphere, and it certainly matches the brassy bombast of 2010s-era music from the Las Vegas-bred band. You’ll be hearing a lot more of it next week if you plan to watch fellow hometown heroes, hockey’s Vegas Golden Knights, on their unprecedented quest to bring the Stanley Cup home to Nevada: It’s featured in the NHL’s promotional campaign for this year’s finals and fits the sports arena vibe quite well.
Take a listen below:
Panic! has a trio of new songs out now, but it’s lead single “Say Amen (Saturday Night)” that’s getting the commercial spotlight. It’s been a staple on alternative radio the past several weeks and currently sits just outside the top five on our Alternative Songs chart.
The chart’s summit being in striking distance bodes well for Pray for the Wicked, which drops June 22 on Fueled By Ramen/DCD2 Records.
