It’s Halloween season in a Netflix and Chill year, so there’s a good chance the likes of Blair Witch Project, Scream and Goosebumps episodes have crossed your screen lately. We’ve got an indie music video that follows suit, coming from the San Francisco synthpop duo Painted Palms.
The band calls “Refractor” their favorite track on their 2015 album Horizons, and Billboard is premiering its new music video below. The part live-action, part animated clip features a murder, a baseball bat, and a lot of fire. And aside from being seasonal, the video ties into the song’s theme quite well.

“In some ways, it’s a distillation of the moods we were hoping to explore on this album,” Painted Palms’ Reese Donohue tells Billboard. “We were really excited to be able to work with Ours & Yours, their video captured the dark luminescence we were imagining when making the song.”
