New York-based alt-poppers Oberhofer spent several years building buzz before releasing their 2012 debut album and another three before releasing its follow-up. But less than half a year after sharing Chronovision, Brad Oberhofer and company have announced a deluxe re-issue featuring 12 new tracks.
Some of the songs on Chronovision Deluxe are alternate recordings of songs that appeared on the last album; others are completely new. We’re excited to premiere one such song. “Hey Man” is a psychedelic garage rocker that makes good use of that time-tested, ‘50s sci-fi-inspired synthesizer line that somehow hasn’t gone out of style. Take a walk with Brad around New York and even into the Adam Levine collection at K-Mart in the music video below:
So who is Oberhofer greeting in “Hey Man”? Basically everyone. “This song is about just being a guy about town and saying ‘hey’ to the people you know, the people you don’t know, the people who like you, and the people who don’t want to like you,” Oberhofer explains.
