A beloved Nirvana live album will be released for the first time on vinyl and on streaming services on Aug. 30. The set, Live and Loud, chronicles the band’s Dec. 1993 performance at Pier 48 in Seattle and was first issued on DVD and CD in Sept. 2013 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the band’s final studio album, In Utero. The set — recorded a month after the band’s iconic MTV Unplugged performance — will hit all streaming services and be issued on a 2XLP vinyl version; it is available for pre-order here.
The 17-track album features such beloved Nirvana songs as “Drain You,” “Breed,” “Sever the Servants,” “Sliver,” “Pennyroyal Tea,” “All Apologies,” “Heart-Shaped Box,” “Come as You Are,” “Lithium,” “About a Girl” and a cover of David Bowie’s “The Man Who Sold The World” performed by the touring lineup of singer/guitarist Kurt Cobain, bassist Krist Novoselic, drummer Dave Grohl and guitarist Pat Smear.
