New Politics dropped the lyric video for their spunky new single “Comeback Kid” on Friday (April 19), exclusively with Billboard.
The visual stars an animated superhero wearing the band’s insignia as the trio blast through the upbeat track. “You can knock me down (you can knock me out)/ You can hold me down (you can hold me down)/ I’m a comeback kid,” bellows frontman David Boyd on the song’s confidence-inducing chorus.
“Everyone has something in their life that they’ve beaten and come back from,” the band tells Billboard. “As a band we’ve gone through our own situations and this is our anthem powering back through.”
This year, New Politics are celebrating their 10-year anniversary with a run of six intimate shows at venues across the U.S. The tour kicks off June 19 in Brooklyn, New York, at Baby’s All Right with stops in Boston, Chicago, Denver and Sacramento before wrapping up June 29 at The Roxy in LA.
