It wasn’t just the Killjoys who were freaking out on Thursday (Oct. 31) at the news that My Chemical Romance are reuniting — a bunch of their fellow rockers were amped, too.
The long-rumored get back drew cheers from a number of bands who could not contain their excitement about the news that the black paraders will be marching back onto the stage for the first time since they broke up in 2013.
For now, there’s only one show annoucned, a Dec. 20 gig at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles; Billboard has reached out to the group’s reps to find out if there will be more shows or possibly a follow-up to 2010’s Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.
Oh, and there’s some other great news: there is new killer MCR merch to go along with the comeback date, though some of it is already sold out. There’s a black t-shirt with a white MCR logo next to a red candle, a black hoodie with the word “return” in red, a white women’s muscle tank with the candle logo, a classic black revenge logo distressed tee, as well as black praying hands and haunted castle distressed tees.
The love came pouring in from MCR’s peers, including Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda, Thursday’s Geoff Rickley, Palaye Royale and The Maine’s Pat Kirch, who tipped his hat to the Jonas Brothers, who appeared to have spoiled the secret earlier this year.

Since My Chem is making a comeback, I’d very much like it if my friend @gerardway started to use his Twitter again.
