Mutemath is getting ready to release their fourth album, Vitals, on Nov. 13, and Billboard is excited to give fans an early listen of one of the tracks.
“Used To,” which premieres below, is the second song that has been released from the upcoming album so far after the lead single “Monument.”
Mutemath lead vocalist Paul Meany talked to Billboard about the inspiration for the song.
“The idea for this song came to me while I was moving out of my house in New Orleans a few years back,” Meany says. “I often wonder if this song was subconsciously about that. Leaving a place I didn’t want to, but had to. Either way, once we got this song on its feet, we finally had uncovered the foundation of how we wanted the whole album to sound.”
Vitals is available for pre-order now, and $1 from every pre-order on the band’s site will go toward launching the New Orleans chapter of Songs for Kids.
