The nonprofit Musicians On Call will celebrate five years of making an impact in Los Angeles through music and its power to heal during an intimate evening with Echosmith and other artists.
The organization’s mission is to bring live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities. The event will take place Feb. 28 at Hollywood’s Avenue. Musicians On Call will also offer fans a chance to walk the red carpet, attend as a VIP guest and meet the band. Musicians On Call launched in New York in 1999 before expanding to Los Angeles in 2013.
Sponsored by Southwest Airlines, this exclusive invite-only event will honor volunteer guide Jean Clark and volunteer musician Beau Wammack.
“Musicians On Call is proud to celebrate five years in Los Angeles and we’re excited to bring our supporters together for a great night of music,” Pete Griffin, Musicians On Call president, said in a statement. “We couldn’t have reached this moment without the support of our volunteers, musicians, donors, hospital staff, partners, Advisory Board Members and Board of Directors who help us deliver the healing power of music to over 20,000 people in Los Angeles.”
In December, the organization launched its new Music Pharmacy program with country music star Luke Bryan at Lenox Hospital in New York City. The program gives patients advanced technology to access the healing power of music at their bedside with fully equipped tablets from Pandora and top-notch Bose headphones.
Over the years, Musicians On Call has worked with Kelly Clarkson, Pharrell, Keith Urban, Justin Timberlake, Ed Sheeran, Nick Jonas and more.
