Muse have lined up an increasingly robust list of summer festival dates in the U.S. and now it appears fans at those shows might be treated to new music from the band’s in-process eighth album. The trio unveiled a cryptic teaser of a video shoot on Monday (May 8) that suggests fresh tunes are on the way. While there’s no actual music in the nine-second clip, it clearly takes place on a video shoot where the group looks to be in costume for some kind of futuristic scenario. It ends with the tease “coming soon.”

Not much is known about the follow-up to 2015’s Drones album, but the group has been holed up in a Los Angeles practice space this week rehearsing for the upcoming shows.
After six months of laying low, Matthew Bellamy and the crew have booked a series of 19 North American shows, a mix of amphitheater headlining gigs and festival plays, including Cincinnati’s Bunbury (June 4), Dover, Delaware’s Firefly (June 18), Pemberton, Canada’s Pemberton Music Festival (July 13), Ottawa’s RBC Bluesfest (July 15), Quebec’s Festival d’été de Québec (July 16), Chicago’s Lollapalooza (Aug. 3) and the Osheaga Festival in Montreal (Aug. 5).
