Justin Bieber is down with Metallica. Well, at least the early stuff — back in 2012, he told GQ that 1984’s “Fade to Black” and 1989’s “One” were his “jams.” He’s been rocking Metallica tees lately, and frontman James Hetfield thinks that’s great.
NME points out that Hammett recently shared his “Top 10 Thingz of 2015” via the band’s fan club, and “Justin Bieber wearing a Metallica shirt” made the list. It’s only number 10, one behind Pepper Keenan being back in Corrosion of Conformity and four behind Baroness’ new album Purple, but hey, it’s better than a lot of the hate Biebs gets from rock fans these days.
In honor of Bieber, here’s his jam, his “one love” you might say:
Coming in at number two (behind “Still alive!!!”) was “getting best guitar sound yet recording new album @ HQ.” Indeed, Metallica has been teasing its forthcoming studio album throughout 2015, and is expected to release it sometime next year.
