Linkin Park is rolling towards the release of the group’s seventh studio album next week and on Wednesday (May 10) shared a supportive new single off One More Light called “Invisible.”
The track produced with RAC and Jesse Shatkin puts the typically alt rock band in more melodic pop territory than where it formed its reputation, while still tackling personal subject matter. In an interview with German press last month, singer Mike Shinoda said the song was written about the moment as a parent when you need to tell your children something they may not want to hear but are doing so because you care not because you want to hurt their feelings.
“I was not mad at you/ I was not trying to tear you down/ The words that I could’ve used/ I was too scared to say out loud/ If I cannot break your fall/ I’ll pick you up right off the ground/ If you felt invisible, I won’t let you feel that now,” Shinoda sings.
