It’s been nearly a month since the famed “Dreams” skateboarder went viral on TikTok, and now even Lindsey Buckingham is riding the cranberry juice-induced wave.
“Made this with my girls this weekend,” the former Fleetwood Mac guitarist tweeted on Wednesday (Oct. 21) alongside a video of himself taking part in the challenge. In the clip, the camera focuses on a close-up of his hand holding a small bottle of Ocean Spray cranberry juice cocktail before panning out to reveal him riding a horse as the band’s iconic 1977 hit plays in the background.
The video happens to be the rocker’s first public appearance since the 2019 heart surgery that damaged his vocal chords. (That April, he was also fired by his former bandmates from the group due to a disagreement over their An Evening with Fleetwood Mac tour.)
Buckingham is far from the only Fleetwood Mac member to show his appreciation for the viral meme in recent weeks. Earlier this month, Mick Fleetwood and Stevie Nicks each put their own spin on recreations of the clip, and the former even surprised the original skateboarder — Nathan Apodaca — during a Zoom interview with the BBC to thank him for creating the buzzy moment.
“Dreams” has also seen a remarkable chart resurgence thanks to the viral video, enjoying its largest week ever in the history of streaming. Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours even landed back in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 this week, landing at No. 7 a whopping 42 years after its reign at the top of the chart in 1977 & 1978.
