
When the Libertines returned after an 11 years hiatus/breakup/whatever that was, the first single from their reunion album, Anthems for Doomed Youth, mystified some fans.
Sure, the Libertines had always drawn inspiration from the Clash, but the dub-y nature of “Gunga Din” definitely left some fans — hoping for a return to shambolic rock or heart-on-sleeve anthems — cold.
