Sadness struck the punk community Saturday (Aug. 25) as We Came As Romans announced that singer Kyle Pavone had passed away at just 28 years old. The metalcore band took to Instagram to share the news, posting a photo of Pavone smiling and asking fans to make a charity donation in lieu of sending flowers.
“We will miss his smiles, his sincerity, his concern for others, and his impressive musical talent,” the group added in the announcement.
Pavone left a positive impact on his band and beyond, as fellow punk rock stars were quick to send messages of love to Kyle, his family and We Came as Romans bandmates. Bless the Fall, Of Mice and Men’s Alan Ashby, Memphis May Fire’s Anthony Sepe and former Beartooth guitarist Taylor Lumley were among some of the first to share heartfelt condolences.
“I will always remember the big smiles and warm greetings whenever we would run into each other,” Black Veil Brides drummer Christian Coma wrote. “Such an amazing person gone way too soon,” former Crown the Empire frontman David Escamilla added.
Fans also flooded social media with loving messages and photos of Pavone. His cause of death has not been reported.
Take a look at some of the tributes to Pavone below.
