Another piece of Kurt Cobain’s personal archive arrived this week off the upcoming album Montage of Heck: The Home Recordings (out next Friday, Nov. 13) — a solo demo of Nirvana‘s “Been A Son.” The collection is a companion piece to Brett Morgen’s Kurt Cobain documentary Montage of Heck, which will be released on DVD the same day.

On the 90-second track, he outlines the song and the bass part with nonsense lyrics. It’s an intimate look at his song-writing process, and one of the highlights of the 13-track collection. Listen to the demo below:
