We’ve reported on big time rock memorabilia auctions before, but this one’s a little more serious.
Kurt Cobain’s childhood home is for sale via Washington’s Aberdeen Realty, for the price of $400,000. The 1,522-square foot bungalow in Aberdeen, Wash. contains four bedrooms, one bath, and according to Reuters, “marks and drawings Cobain made on the walls.” There is also a hole teenaged Kurt punched in a wall, which almost broke his hand. And on top of all that, there’s furniture and decor — like a rug in Cobain’s room and a dining room table — left over from the Nirvana frontman’s childhood.
According to Aberdeen Realty, there is a lot more fixer-up potential here than adding some new hardwood floors. “There are a number of exciting possibilities for this unique property, including moving the building and incorporating it into a larger institution or private collection,” the listing reads.

So there you have it. Aberdeen lies approximately 100 miles southwest of Seattle, but Kurt’s home could wind up just about anywhere.
