After teasing a potential 2018 Senate bid for several months, Kid Rock admitted to Howard Stern on Tuesday morning (Oct. 24) that the whole campaign was just a ploy to drum up publicity for his new album, Sweet Southern Sugar, out Nov. 3.
This being 2017, people on the Internet had opinions. Many folks breathed a collective sigh of relief upon learning the man who once draped himself in an American flag poncho on live TV would not be making a legitimate run for office. Some took the opportunity to lambast the “Bawitdaba” singer’s musical output. Others still responded to the news in a way that could be effectively boiled down to one word: “Duh.”
