John Mayer is a sensitive man. Not just in his music, but also in his life. Case in point: there was a pretty big earthquake in his home state of Montana early Thursday morning (July 6) with a magnitude of 5.8. According to NPR, the rumbler startled a number of people out of their sleep in the western part of the state and was felt for hundreds of miles from its epicenter southeast of Lincoln.
“Wow. Earthquake in Montana,” a rattled Mayer tweeted soon after the event. “So if you wonder if you’re crazy and you’re searching the words earthquake and Montana, earthquake Montana.”
Wow. Earthquake in Montana. So if you wonder if you’re crazy and you’re searching the words earthquake and Montana, earthquake Montana.

Clearly up early and shaken, Mayer then tweeted out some stats from the U.S. Geological Survey, which noted that the quake was the 8th biggest on record in Montana and the strongest one in nearly a dozen years.
