Jared Leto on Saturday (July 22) penned an emotional tribute to his friend, Chester Bennington.
The 41-year-old Linkin Park frontman took his own life on Thursday. News of his death rocked both Hollywood and the music industry.
Leto, an Oscar-winning actor, is also the lead of the band 30 Seconds to Mars. He posted his memorial on social media to his millions of followers.
“When I think of Chester, I remember his smile,” Leto began. “His laughter, intelligence, kindness and heart. The absolutely unforgettable voice that was at once — delicate, ferocious and always full of emotion.”
He continued, “Witnessing his life taught me a lot. Especially about commitment, about kindness, about hard work, about the pursuit and achievement of dreams, and mostly about love.”
Leto called Bennington an “absolute legend” and said his heart went out to the friends and family of the late musician.
