
British singer/songwriter James Bay performed “Hymn for the Weekend” in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, and the cover is officially Coldplay-approved.

Bay took on the British pop-rock band’s Beyoncé collaboration while wearing a Queen Bey T-shirt and his signature hat. The haunting take on the single even caught the attention of Coldplay themselves, who called it a “beautiful cover” on Twitter.

Bay also performed his own single “Craving” from his 2015 debut studio album, Chaos and the Calm. The project was nominated for best rock album at the 2016 Grammys.
Bay is currently performing overseas, with his next concert set for Portugal on Friday night. Bay will return to the States for his fall tour, kicking off Sept. 19 in Orlando, Florida.
