Imagine Dragons has been playing games with their fans for the past week — and the official prize has finally been announced.
Partnering with Corning, the manufacturer of Gorilla Glass, the band announced a mysterious new marketing campaign on Wednesday (Aug. 26) that invited fans to decode riddles and puzzles online in order to gain access to a cryptic website.
As riddles were posted daily on the official Corning Twitter account, fans quickly figured out that each riddle gave access to a secret password when solved. The passwords could then be used on the campaign’s website to unlock different levels and gain access to an unknown reward.
The band took to Twitter on Tuesday (Sept. 4) to thank the fans for their dedication in supporting the band’s interactive experience, finally revealing the trophy — a few lucky winners from those who make it through the sequence of riddles and puzzles, will be joining Imagine Dragons in a very intimate and special fan event coming up in Las Vegas.
“We’ve been blown away by you guys,” the tweet reads. “There’s no smarter and more selfless group of people in the world, period. it seems appropriate that on the eve of the sixth anniversary of Night Visions, which started this all, we can finally announce a very special fan event coming up in Las Vegas. A few lucky winners from those who make it through this ridiculous gauntlet of puzzles (last one comes tomorrow, NOT judged by time entry) will be joining us in person”
Although there isn’t a specific date or location announced for the show yet, as well as how many people will be winning spots to see the concert, the band assured its fans that more surprises and announcements are on the way.
