Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds took to Twitter Thursday to share a sad update with fans. He and his wife of 7 years, Aja Volkman, are calling it quits.
“After 7 beautiful years together, Aja and I’s marriage has come to an end,” the singer tweeted. “Our children continue to be the most important thing in our lives, & we will continue to co-parent them with all our love.”
Reynolds didn’t elaborate on the cause of the split, but asked that fans respect his privacy as they “work through this as a family.” He and Volkman have three daughters: Arrow Eve, 5, and twins Gia James and Coco Rae, who just turned 1 in March.
Volkman shared a statement on her personal Instagram, admitting that while she was hesitant to release anything about her marriage, she’s “so grateful” to have her three girls.
“I am grateful for all the abundance I have experienced in my life with Dan,” she wrote. “Life doesn’t always go as planned, but to live is a blessing. As they always say, it’s better to have loved and lose then to never have loved at all.”
