Frances Bean Cobain is in no hurry to get her music career started. The 25 year-old daughter of late Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain and Hole frontwoman Courtney Love has spent much of the year so far easing out short, intriguing peeks of her songwriting craft, giving fans an emerging sense of her songwriter skills.
With the ponderous weight of expectation likely in the back of her mind, the less-is-more approach is a smart one, as evidenced by the latest glance behind the curtain Cobain posted late Tuesday night (June 12).
In the third snippet of music posted over the past few months, Cobain is once again seen in dramatic light strumming her acoustic guitar, this time emoting a bit more intensely than in previous clips, breathlessly singing “Please bequest my last request/For duty calls me/And she says come hither.”
Last month, Cobain released a second version of an unnamed song. At press time it was unclear if the material released so far is part of the same song or two different tracks. To date, Cobain — who has shown her art in galleries in the past — has not revealed whether she is actively pursuing a recording contract or in the studio working on what would be her debut album.
