At this point it would be weird if the Foo Fighters didn’t invite someone up on stage during a show.
But at their Monday night (Aug. 19) gig in Glasgow at the Boucher Road Playing Fields they added one of the most endearing cameos to a summer bucket list that has already included a man crowd-surfing to stage to smash singer/guitarist Dave Grohl’s Gibson, and inviting a blind 10 year-old and his familiy to check out a show in St. Paul.
The latest stage crash might be the most adorable one yet. After Grohl spotted a five year-old named Taylor in the crowd, he, of course, invited him up on stage to see if the kid had any dance moves he could bust out to the band’s raucous “All My Life” during the Foos headlining gig at the Vital Festival.
And Taylor did not disappoint. “Can you show these people how to dance? Show these people how to dance!” Grohl yelled as Taylor — wearing the proper ear protection — began punching the air and hopping around in time to the song’s double-time rhythms. At several points Grohl stood next to Taylor strumming his guitar and headbanging as the Foos’ most energetic fan boogied like tens of thousands were watching. “Let’s hear it for the little man!” Grohl said as the tune wound down and Taylor kept his feet moving before taking a bow with the band’s leader.
The band’s summer tour conitnues on Wednesday (Aug. 21) with a sold-out show at the RDS Arena in Dublin, before they headline the Reading and Leeds Festivals on Aug. 23 and Aug. 25, respectively.
Watch Taylor rip it up below.
