On Friday (April 15), the Red Hot Chili Pepper told TMZ the criticisms weren’t getting to him. He said, “I don’t care, man. I know that people who liked music liked it. I thought it was beautiful. I really don’t have any concern for little small minds that get frustrated when they get blown.”
Following Flea’s cover of the national anthem, several fans and media outlets took to social media to trash Flea’s bass-only rendition, with the New York Daily News even adding it to a list of worst National Anthem performances.
