

The Flaming Lips’ creative hot streak will continue into 2017, as the Wayne Coyne-led psych band has announced a new LP called Oczy Mlody for release Jan. 13.
They led off their first traditional, non-collaborative release since 2013 today (Oct. 21) by sharing a spaced-out trip-rocker called “The Castle.” The light-as-a-feather five-minute track opens with Coyne singing about a woman (comparing her eyes to butterflies and her smile to a rainbow), then musing on the song title: “The castle can never be rebuilt again.”

Oczy Mlody follows last year’s Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, which the Lips released in collaboration with the pop artist. The year before that, they released With a Little Help from My Fwends, a track-for-track cover of the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, featuring guest spots from Miley Cyrus, Phantogram, Tegan and Sara, and many others. Cyrus returns on Oczy Mlody,
