Ahead of their U.S. headlining tour, Filter‘s seventh studio album, Crazy Eyes, is available now for fans to stream, exclusively on Billboard.
“When I started the new Filter record, I focused on originality through the strange and weird parts of my musical vocabulary,” frontman Richard Patrick tells Billboard. “I drew from the darker crazier issues in life. I pulled from my observations of the world and my own experiences. My Filter. Only through a heavy-handed production approach could I really make an album as angular as this.”
Not only did Patrick sing on the album’s 12 tracks, but he also self-produced the project, collaborating with old industry friends such as producer Ben Grosse (Marilyn Manson, Disturbed), Brian Virtue (Jane’s Addiction, Thirty Seconds to Mars) and Michael Tuller, whom Patrick previously worked with for Nine Inch Nails.
In addition to a CD release, Crazy Eyes will also be released on vinyl.
