There aren’t many things these days you can count on with absolute certainty. But there is one: Father John Misty will always find new ways to surprise, delight, confuse and entertain you. The latest case on point came on Tuesday night (May 9), just hours after the world learned that President Trump had abruptly fired FBI director James Comey, the man who many credit with handing the election to Trump due to his 11th hour announcement of yet another probe into Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton e-mails.
Misty, chilling backstage before a show and enjoying a cocktail and some pizza, uploaded a 53-second video in which he performs a seemingly impromptu ode to Comey featuring lines such as: “James Comey was fired in the month of May/ James Comey was fired from the CIA/ Well he had Hillary’s e-mails/ And there was a recipe, recipe for risotto.”
It ends with a reference to disgraced former New York congressman Anthony Weiner and… oh just watch.
