Evanescence’s hit “Bring Me To Life” will forever remain one of the most iconic rock songs of the mid-2000s.
Now, the song itself is being brought back to life with a re-imagined orchestral version released on Friday (Aug. 18). The song is set to appear on the group’s forthcoming album, Synthesis, which is out this fall and features orchestral reworkings of their music. It is the first release from the band since their 2011 self-title record.
The new version of “Bring Me To Life” feels just as rich and dramatic as the original, but less heavy as it’s stripped of his crashing drums and loud guitar work and instead replaced with a grand strings arrangement composed by David Campbell.
