Emarosa have unveiled their emotional new single “Ready To Love” on Monday (Nov. 18).
On the ’80s-inspired track, lead vocalist Bradley Walden gets vulnerable as he teeters on the edge of a new romance. “And it’s not that I can’t it’s just/ I’m not ready to love/ But I won’t be too long/ I’m not ready to lo-o-ve/ But I won’t be too long,” he belts over churning guitars and synths on the tune’s pulsing chorus.
“‘Ready To Love’ is that bite that’s too hot,” Walden tells Billboard. “You know it’ll hurt, you know it’s not ready, but it takes tha pain to learn your lesson. The older you get the more self-aware you become about what you want for yourself and what you want in a partner. A lot of time can be wasted being with people out of loneliness. This song is a reflection of moving passed that and knowing what you want, knowing your worth and knowing what you are/are not ready for.”
The synth-pop anthem is the band’s first new single since the release of their 2019 album Peach Club. Beginning the end of November, the Kentucky-bred quartet will embark on a North American headlining tour for the LP, with the run of 18 dates kicking off Nov. 29 at Sacramento’s Holy Driver.
“We’ve never done a tour like this at this level with this amount of planning that’s gone into it,” Walden says. “It’s a breakthrough tour for us, we get to play our new album in its entirety. It’s special and people know it, that’s why our fans have almost completely sold it out. I’m so grateful and so excited, this is the most important tour of this is the most important tour for this band and our fans to date.”
