
This year’s Kennedy Center Honors will go on without the Eagles, the rock band that will be honored next year because member Glenn Frey‘s health won’t allow him to attend next month’s ceremony.
Eagles & Carole King Win 2015 Kennedy Center Honors
The Kennedy Center announced Wednesday that the Eagles’ honor would be postponed by a year. According to a statement from the band, Frey “has had a recurrence of previous intestinal issues, which will require major surgery and a lengthy recovery period.”
The Kennedy Center says Frey plans to attend next year’s ceremony along with fellow Eagles Don Henley, Timothy Schmit and Joe Walsh.

This year’s other honorees are actresses Rita Moreno and Cicely Tyson, singer-songwriter Carole King, filmmaker George Lucas and conductor Seiji Ozawa.
The ceremony will be held Dec. 6 and broadcast Dec. 29 on CBS.
