Back in 1983, Nile Rodgers remixed Duran Duran‘s “The Reflex” and gave the British boys one of their biggest hits. Thirty-two years and several successful collaboration later, Mark Ronson decided it was time to get the Chic maestro and Duran Duran back together while working on their new single.
Billboard got behind-the-scenes access to the iconic British band’s studio session with Rodgers and Ronson — this, incidentally, was the first time the two legendary producers worked together. Watch them put their magic powers together in the making of “Pressure Off.”
“Pressure Off,” featuring Janelle Monáe, is the first single from Duran Duran’s forthcoming studio effort, Paper Gods. It’s due Sept. 11 on Warner Bros.
