Thousands of people paid tribute to late Cranberries singer Dolores O’Riordan at St. Joseph’s Church in Limerick, Ireland, on Saturday (Jan. 20), where she was lying in repose.
O’Riordan, who died on Jan. 15 at age 46, lay in an open coffin with a pair of pearl rosary beads, The Irish Times reports. The church was decorated with photos of the singer performing on stage and of her meetings with Pope John Paul II at the Vatican, and her music played as mourners paid their respects.
Family, friends and fans, as well as former minister for defense Willie O’Dea and former minister for education Jan O’Sullivan, were in attendance at the four-hour service.

O’Riordan’s bandmates left a floral tribute next to her coffin that read, “The song has ended, but the memories linger on.”
On Monday, O’Riordan will be moved to Cross’s Funeral Home in Ballyneety, where the public viewing will continue. She will be laid to rest in a private burial after her funeral at St. Aible’s Church in Ballybricken on Tuesday.
The London coroner’s office is awaiting results of tests to determine what killed the singer, who was found unresponsive in a London hotel room.
