The music world is still trying to come to grips with the shocking death of Cranberries singer Dolores O’Riordan on Monday (Jan. 15). While police have said they are not treating the investigation into the 46 year-old “Linger” star’s death as suspicious, the question and grief have touched fans and friends across the globe.
One of those impacted most deeply is O’Riordan’s bandmate in the group D.A.R.K. and partner, Olé Koretsky, who posted a touching tribute to his love on Facebook. “My friend, partner, and the love of my life is gone,” he wrote. “My heart is broken and it is beyond repair. Dolores is beautiful. Her art is beautiful. Her family is beautiful. The energy she continues to radiate is undeniable. I am lost. I miss her so much. I will continue to stumble around this planet for some time knowing well there’s no real place for me here now.”
Koretsky’s touching not came along with a tribute from their fellow D.A.R.K. bandmate, former Smiths bassist Andy Rourke. As previously reported, Rourke wrote, “I am heartbroken and devastated by the news of the sudden and unexpected passing of Dolores. I have truly enjoyed the years we spent together and feel privileged to call her a close friend. It was a bonus to work with her in our band D.A.R.K. and witness firsthand her breathtaking and unique talent. I will miss her terribly. I send my love and condolences to her family and loved ones.”
According to the post, at the time of her passing O’Riordan was in a London studio in a mixing session with producer Martin Glover (aka Youth), working on the follow up to D.A.R.K.’s 2016 album Science Agrees, “which hopes to see a future release as that would have ben Dolores’ wish.”
