UPDATE: After this story was published, Dave Grohl tweeted an X-ray of his broken leg.
First The Edge, then Rae Sremmurd’s Slim Jimmy, and now Dave Grohl? This recent stage fall epidemic is no joke.
During a Foo Fighters performance at Ullevi in Gothernburg, Sweden on Friday (June 12), Grohl sustained a serious leg injury after jumping off the stage. The exact injury is still to be determined, but Grohl told the crowd that he thinks his right leg was broken.
“Ladies and gentlemen… I think I just broke my leg,” Grohl told the crowd at the packed concert. “I think I really broke my leg. … Right now, I’m gonna go to the hospital. I’m gonna fix my leg. But then I’m gonna come back, and we’re gonna play for you again!”
According to TMZ, Grohl attempted to continue performing after sustaining the injury, singing Queen and David Bowie’s “Under Pressure.” The stage fall reportedly occurred early in the band’s set.
