While Dave Grohl is best known these days for fronting Foo Fighters, he seems to have a near-equal passion for the art of barbecue as well. The affable rock legend was a featured judge at the Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest over the weekend in Memphis, Tennessee, and from the looks of it, he fit right in with the carnivorous culinary experts.

“That’s right — tell it to the judge,” Grohl said in a video posted to the competition’s official Twitter account.
Grohl appeared more than thrilled to spend the weekend chowing down on brisket, sausage and ribs galore while mingling with his fellow BBQ enthusiasts. He snapped pictures with fans, local news personalities and Food Network-famed barbecue master Danielle “Diva Q” Bennett. Naturally, there was also live music at the event, during which the star couldn’t resist joining in.
Grohl has had no shortage of fan interactions lately, having recently been floored onstage by an audience member’s flawless “Monkey Wrench” rendition and getting delightfully irritated with an overconfident 8-year-old drummer who nearly derailed the Fighters’ Nashville show.
