Chris Martin is ready to hop on the Free Love Freeway.
One of the best running gags in the consistently hilarious U.K. Office was Ricky Gervais kicking out his rock star dreams with the acoustic guitar. Well, the guitar-playing bawse David Brent is coming back in a new film, and Chris Martin is helping out.
On Saturday (Oct. 17), Gervais tweeted a photo of himself alongside the Coldplay frontman, declaring a collaboration for the soundtrack of the forthcoming film, Life on the Road.
Still buzzing from our first studio session this week recording the David Brent soundtrack album. Too much fun. pic.twitter.com/a85cInGBTM

“Still buzzing from our first studio session this week recording the David Brent soundtrack album,” Gervais wrote. “Too much fun.”
Too much fun, indeed.
The film will follow Brent on the road, mockumentary-style, years after the character left his office life and chased his rock star dreams. It’s set for an Aug. 19 U.K. release, according to IMDB.
Previously, Martin appeared on Gervais’ post-Office show Extras and performed Coldplay’s “Fix You.”
We leave you with “Free Love Freeway”:
