We’re still reeling from the loss of Chris Cornell.
Upon reporting the highly unexpected death of the Soundgarden frontman, Billboard published a review of the legendary Seattle band’s concert last night (May 17) in Detroit, a show no one thought would be Cornell’s last. The 52-year old was in “was in fine form and spirits,” according to reviewer Gary Graff, fist-bumping with fans and howling out the highlights from Soundgarden’s six studio albums.
We’ve uncovered video from the very end of the Fox Theatre set — Cornell’s final walk off the stage. Watch the video below, and get a glimpse of the closing notes of Badmotorfinger’s “Slaves & Bulldozers.” While performing it, Soundgarden worked in a little bit of Led Zeppelin‘s bluesy 1975 epic “In My Time of Dying.”
Billboard.com will have further updates as more knowledge about Cornell’s death becomes known. For more, here’s how other musicians, like Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro, have reacted to the devastating news.
