A private funeral service was held for Chester Bennington, who was laid to rest Saturday (July 29) in Palos Verdes, Calif., according to reports.
An estimated 200 friends and family members attended the service for the late Linkin Park vocalist, TMZ says.
A photo posted to Instagram by Austin Carlile — who has toured and performed with Linkin Park, as a former member of the band Of Mice and Men — shows that those in attendance were given yellow “Chester Bennington” wristbands and memorial cards designed to resemble backstage passes
“The service today was beautiful. Thank you Linkin Park, thank you Chester. For everything,” he wrote.
The funeral service setup reportedly included a full stage to accommodate musical tributes.
Bennington died of suicide on July 20 at the age of 41. He is survived by his wife, Talinda, and six children.
“He was a bright, loving soul with an angel’s voice,” Talinda said in a statement issued following her husband’s death. “And now he is pain-free singing his songs in all of our hearts. May God bless us all and help us turn to one another when we are in pain. Chester would’ve wanted us to do so.”
