Just in time for Thanksgiving, here’s a little family-oriented duet that should make you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside — it’s storied songwriter Carly Simon duetting with her son Ben Taylor on an ode to devotion called “I Can’t Thank You Enough.”
The track is one of two previously unreleased songs on Simon’s upcoming double-disc compilation, Songs From the Trees (A Musical Memoir Collection). It’s due Nov. 20 on Rhino Records, as a companion to Simon’s forthcoming memoir, Boys in the Trees. Billboard is excited to present an exclusive first listen of the song:
“I Can’t Thank You Enough” is a brand new song written Ben, the son of her ex-husband James Taylor. “Come bring me your fears, cry me your tears, sit by my side,” Simon and her son sing poignantly. “I know how it feels, I’ve taken that ride.”
The other previously unheard offering on the 31-song compilation is “Showdown,” which was recorded during the sessions for Simon’s 1978 album Boys In The Trees.
The double-album is available for pre-order here.
The memoir is due Nov. 24.
