Even at 66, Bruce Springsteen regularly plays concerts that last over three hours, because he is a super hero.
His Feb. 8 show at Albany, NY’s Times Union Center started at 7:30 p.m. and ended at 11, which is rough if you’ve got to wake up for work… or school. Luckily, a young fan got a passionate written excuse from her father for coming in late, and it’s starting to go viral.
Backstreets Magazine shared the note Patrick A. Pipino wrote on behalf of his daughter Isabelle, the day after the whole family saw Bruce and the E Street Band in Albany.
“This may not seem like a good excuse, but have you ever wondered how many kids would be late — or miss school outright — if God were to suddenly appear?”

Bruce is touring in support of the expanded reissue of The River, playing the 1980 double album in its entirety, along with other standards. Next up, he’s playing Hartford, Conn.’s XL Center tonight (Feb. 10).
