Justin Vernon, the multi-instrumentalist who produces eclectic indie folk as the frontman of Bon Iver, has (at least) two new songs coming up soon.
The singer/songwriter took to his personal Twitter account to retweet a photo posted Monday (May 28) of what appears to be a mixtape tracklist. Two songs credited to Vernon are titled “Shittiest Day In American History” and “Thoughts on People 1,” while Poliça and The National‘s Bryce and Aaron Dessner also appear to have made contributions to the project. “Music incoming” read the photo caption, tweeted by the account of PEOPLE Festival, a 120-plus artist event which will take place in Berlin this August.
Vernon followed the post with an additional tweet. “Not meaning to tease,” he explained. “Also, all are not ‘songs’ here at people. You WILL see and understand as this whole thing unfolds in the next days, months and years.”
A fan of keeping it unconventional, Vernon recently hosted an overnight live music and culinary experience with Bon Iver bandmate S. Carey at the singer’s boutique Oxbow Hotel in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The band is also currently wrapping up a brief North American tour in support of its 2016 album 22, A Million.
