If Beck‘s upcoming album is really going to take us to Hyperspace, the latest piece of the puzzle makes it seem like it’s going to be a leisurely, hazy ride. The atmospheric song “Dark Places” dropped on Wednesday (Nov. 6), as the follow-up to the super-chill “Uneventful Days” and October’s first taste of the singer’s upcoming 14th full-length, due out on Nov. 22.
The moody video directed by Eddie Obrand finds a young woman contemplating life in the hectic city as Beck croons, “Time moves on and on and love it goes/ Now she’s gone and all I see is shadows/ It’s two in the morning/ I’m so in the moment,” over acoustic guitars, a steady beat and warm, spacey synthesizers. Hyperspace features collaborations with Pharrell Williams, as well as Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Sky Ferreira and is available for pre-order now here.
