Arcade Fire‘s Win Butler — real name Edwin Farnham Butler III — has finally received dual citizenship, according to a post uploaded to Instagram on Tuesday (July 9).
“Very Honored to finally be a Canadian Citizen,” he wrote. “I’ve lived in Montreal for half my life, so it feels very natural to have both passports now ! Had to wear the Canadian Tuxedo, and yes Mounties are real.”
Butler, a California native, was raised in Texas before he moved to Montreal to study at McGill University, where he met his wife and co-founder of Arcade Fire, Régine Chassagne.
