Andy Black released the music video for “Ribcage” on Tuesday (Aug. 9).
The black-and-white video begins with intense silence then follows with clips from some of Black’s performances, meeting fans, signing autographs and doing interviews. The video montage of Black’s life as an artist mixed with the track’s lyrics — “Nothing in the cage of my ribcage/ Emptiness is safe, keep it that way” — appears to portray a darker side of fame.
“Ribcage” is from Black’s debut album The Shadow Side! The punk artist collaborated with Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump, Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden, All Time Low’s Rian Dawson and 5 Seconds of Summer’s Ashton Irwin for the album and is finishing up touring around the world. Black’s next performance is scheduled for Aug. 16 in Monterrey, Mexico.
