Young Thug was targeted in a drive-by shooting early Friday morning (May 10), according to TMZ. After performing at LIV Nightclub in Miami, Thugger and his team filled with two buses of people were traveling back to their hotel when a gunman in another vehicle opened fire, which resulted in three individuals having to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries at local hospitals, according to WPLG.
Witnesses on the scene relayed to TMZ that the incident took place around 6:30 a.m. ET on Florida’s I-95 in Miami-Dade County. While members of Thug’s entourage rode in a pair of party buses, the “High” rapper was reportedly trailing nearby in a Ferrari. The 27-year-old looks to have escaped the precarious situation unscathed, as bullets struck the buses. The three injured victims are expected to be OK. No arrests have been made by police.
Thugger is slated to perform at Rolling Loud on Saturday (May 11). It remains to be seen if his performing status has changed. The YSL boss isn’t the only rapper to be involved in a drive-by this week, as Offset was reportedly the target of a shooting at an Atlanta studio Wednesday night (May 8).
The story is developing. Billboard has reached out to the Miami-Dade Police Department for comment.
