YG returns with another single, heading toward the release of his 4Real 4Real album later this month. The “Go Loko” visual arrived on Friday (May 3) featuring assists from frequent collaborator Tyga and Puerto Rican artist Jon Z.
The clip is a grand celebration of Latino heritage, which lands just in time with Cinco De Mayo coming up. YG hangs out at a house party in someone’s backyard, where the drinks are flowing. Dance circles begin to break out, as the Compton rapper becomes seduced by his love interest.
Backed by a Mariachi band, YG sets the tone for the trap Latino wave with a raunchy verse and a slight nod to Gunna and Lil Baby. “I’ll put you in a chokehold/ I’ll pull a track off a show/ I like it when you touch the floor/ Call me for dick, not Geico/ Hey mamacita, hey mamacita, hey/ Drip too hard, don’t drown off this wave/ She told me to handcuff her, give her no escape,” he raps.
T-Raww continues the cowboy theme from his “Goddamn” video and takes the baton to rhyme while walking his horse down the old town road. “I’m a badass mofo/ She wanna get wifed, that’s a no-no/ I don’t need the police at my front door/ House party go until six-somethin’,” Tyga recites. Mustard, who co-produced the record, also makes a quick cameo in the flick.
“Go Loko” comes on the heels of “Stop Snitchin.” Look for YG’s 4Real 4Real album to drop later in May.
