Earlier this weekend, YG dropped a supremely entertaining video for his recent single “Big Bank,” and at the BET Awards in Los Angeles, he kept the momentum going with a spirited live rendition featuring all his co-stars.
This of course means Nicki Minaj, who had just been out on the Microsoft Theater stage to perform a pair of her own songs. But on “Big Bank,” Nicki isn’t out until the final verse, so she waited in the wings while the track unfolded. First it was YG rapping the opening verse and chorus, dressed in a $100-print suit not unlike the one he sports in the new music video. Up next, 2 Chainz and Big Sean hit the stage to perform the second and third verses, rapping about their own very big bank accounts. And finally, it was Nicki, reprising her music video look by rapping atop a sparkly pink horse statue.
We know that description is a lot to take in, so here’s a clip of the performance from the live telecast.
Produced by DJ Mustard, “Big Bank” is the second single from YG’s forthcoming third studio album. So far, it peaked at No. 66 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
