Ahead of releasing his The Lost Boy debut later this week (July 26), YBN Cordae stopped by Fallon to make his late-night debut on Tuesday (July 23) with an energetic performance of the J.Cole-produced “RNP” featuring Anderson .Paak, which hit streaming services on Wednesday (July 24).
Cordae and his murse bag bounced around the stage, as the lyrical duo traded explosive bars back-and-forth with some help from the Roots live band behind them. “Smiling ’cause I’m young, rich, black, and I’m handsome/ Not to mention wealthy, ass on a healthy/ Young millionaire, what the fuck can you tell me? Smell me?/ N—a, that’s Chanel cologne,” YBN confidently rhymes on the opening verse.
The Lost Boy will also feature appearances from Chance The Rapper, Ty Dolla $ign, Pusha T, Arin Ray, and Meek Mill. The legendary Quincy Jones is even credited with helping put the project together as well. “He’s got so much knowledge and so many dope stories,” Cordae told Power 105.1 of working at Quincy’s house. “This n—a made Thriller. I went to his house and this n—a house has photos with the GOATs of everything. Him and Nelson Mandela, the Dalai Lama, Mahatma Gandhi.”
