Instead of waiting until May 5 to drop his new project Shine, Wale moved up the release of his fifth studio album on Friday (April 28).
For his latest endeavor, the “Ambition” lyricist gifted fans a slew of singles including “Running Back” featuring Lil Wayne, “Fashion Show” with G-Eazy and “My PYT.”
After a multitude of delays, Wale follows up his 2015 project The Album About Nothing with his 14-track offering. Aside from Lil Wayne and G-Eazy, Wale nabbed Major Lazer, Chris Brown, Travis Scott, Phil Ade, WizKid, Dua Lipa, J Balvin (the DMV rep even raps in Spanish!), and his daughter Zyla, who makes her debut on his outro.
In an interview with ESSENCE, Wale gushed about his little bundle of joy and the beauty of fatherhood. “I’m enamored with her, I’m amazed,” he said. “She said ‘hi’ to me this morning. And my hat goes off to her mother. She’s an amazing mom. I’m blessed to make a child with this woman. And who knows if we’ll always be together, but I love her and I’m never gonna stop. I’m on the road. I’m moving around and making an album, and she holds it down.”
